Kirsty qualified from Mary Reid International School of Beauty and fell in love with the Beauty Industry, with now over 18 years experience, she has worked in renowned spas and salons gaining experience in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Nottingham and Marbella.
Kirsty fulfilled her dream of owning her own salon when she opened up KHB at 4 Carnethy Avenue and was ecstatic when the opportunity to expand the salon into the shop next door at number 6 became avaialble, the wall was knocked down and the renovation work was carried out during lockdown 2020 and now the salon operates as one large space.
Kirsty is Mum to two young boys, Alfie and Hugo who she adores and when she is not looking after the boys, she loves being in the salon and spends a lot of time growing the business and ensuring clients are happy with all of the services KHB provides.

CAT MITCHELL
Skin Specialist & Head Beauty Therapist
Cat joined our salon in September 2022 after working for a salon in Edinburgh for 13 years but sadly she was made redundant after COVID, very lucky for us though as Cat is a great asset to KHB with her wide range of beauty knowledge and 19 years worth of experience.
Cat’s favourite treatments are massage and facials, Cat completed her intensive CACI training at their academy in London in 2022 and absolutely loves this machine and all it can offer clients. JOANNE ROSS
Salon Manager/Nail Technician
Jo completed her training at the Sweet Squared Beauty School and specialises in nails and feet, including BIAB overlays, Gel Extensions, Gel Polish Manicures and our Luxury Elim Pedicure. She truly is our nail queen and loves to keep on top of all the current nail trends, so if you fancy something different ask Jo for some advice.
Jo took on the role of Salon Manager when Kirsty went off on maternity and the role suits her perfectly, she is a fun, bubbly character who will always welcome you with a smile and offer you some of her infamous home made tablet (when she has time to make this) alongside a cup of tea during your treatment.
Jo works full time in the salon alonside being Mum to Emily and Elliot.
Alex McInnes
Beauty Therapist and Nail Tech
Alex joined the team part-time in March 2023 to cover for Kirsty’s maternity, Alex was such a great fit for the salon and our clients loved her, once her college course finished she added some extra hours and she now works full-time with us.
Alex specialises in nails and is incredible at nail art, make sure to add the time on to your booking to try her fantastic designs.
Alex completed a training course in eyelash extensions in October 2023 and she has really found another passion in these.
ELLIS HOLLAND
Assistant Manager/ Beauty Specialist
Ellis qualified from Edinburgh college and now has ten years experience, she was Kirsty’s first employee and has been with the salon since we opened in April 2019.
Ellis has gained so much confidence working within the salon, attending various training courses and advancing her knowledge. She has now built up a great clientele and can be hard to get an appointment with so make sure to book in advance.
Ellis loves to do a variety of treatments but specialises in lashes and skincare. If you have any questions on any of our services, reach out to Ellis and she will be able to help.

The Salon
Kirsty Hamilton Beauty Salon opened in April 2019, in Penicuik. We then expanded into the shop next door, completing a refurbishment during lockdown 2020 and we now operate as one beautiful big salon. The salon consists of two treatment rooms, one express area, three nail stations, two pedicure stations, two hair chairs and a makeup station. The team at KHB are extremely passionate about our job, paying attention to the details and striving to make people feel relaxed, fulfilled and happy. We can’t wait to see you!
