WAXING FAQs
How long does my hair need to be?
For the best results, your hair needs to be long enough for the wax to grip effectively. Around ¼ inch – approximately the length of a grain of rice is a useful guide.
If you've been shaving, allowing roughly 2–3 weeks of growth before your appointment will usually give your therapist more hair to work with.
How long will the results last?
Everyone's hair growth cycle is different, but you'll usually enjoy smoother skin for several weeks. Many regular waxing clients book approximately every 4–6 weeks.
Does waxing hurt?
Waxing involves removing the hair from the root, so you will feel it! However, the sensation is very quick and most clients find it much more manageable than they expected.
Regular waxing can also become easier as you become accustomed to the treatment.
What is the difference between bikini, Brazilian and Hollywood waxing?
Bikini Wax – removes hair visible outside a standard bikini or underwear line.
Brazilian Wax – removes most intimate hair while leaving a small strip or shape at the front if desired.
Hollywood Wax – removes all intimate hair from the area.
If you're unsure which one to book, our team can help.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Loose, comfortable clothing is ideal, particularly after leg or intimate waxing. Try to avoid anything very tight that may rub against freshly waxed skin.
Can I wax before a holiday?
Yes, but we'd recommend avoiding booking immediately before travelling, swimming or spending lots of time in the sun.
If it's your first wax, giving your skin a little extra time before your holiday is always a good idea.
Can I exercise after waxing?
We recommend avoiding intense exercise immediately after waxing. Heat, sweat and friction can irritate freshly waxed skin, particularly following intimate or underarm waxing.
Can I use a sunbed or sauna after waxing?
It's best to avoid excessive heat, sun exposure, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and hot baths immediately following your wax while the skin is more sensitive.
Can I shave between waxing appointments?
You can, but if you're trying to establish a regular waxing routine we'd recommend avoiding shaving between appointments. Shaving interrupts the waxing cycle and can mean your hairs are at different stages of growth at your next appointment.
Is intimate waxing awkward?
We promise we've seen it all before!
Our therapists perform intimate waxing professionally and discreetly, and our priority is making you feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. There's absolutely nothing to feel embarrassed about.
How often should I book?
For most areas, around 4–6 weeks is a good starting point. Your therapist can advise you based on your individual hair growth and the area being treated.
